A Campaign by the Sea!

Today was a great day to be knocking on doors. I visited with people in the Hyannis area and heard about the issues that are important to them. A lot of people that I meet are concerned about the high taxes that they pay. They want to see some changes up on Beacon Hill and I hope to be part of that change come November 2nd!

Tomorrow we will be at the Pops by the Sea Concert on the village green in Hyannis along with a few thousand friends! We were able to support the The Cape Cod Arts Foundation this year with a Vote Munafo ad in the program book. My plan is to stake out a good spot for the lawn chairs and then maybe find a hand or two to shake. I hope to see you there!

A Mid-Summer Update

There has been a lot happening on the campaign trail since my last update. Here are some of the highlights:

We gave away a lot of pocket-sized copies of the US Constitution at the Barnstable County Fair. I hope you all got the chance to visit the Cape Cod Republican Club tent!

We visited with Mary Connaughton, candidate for State Auditor, at John & Jennifer’s home in Centerville. We were able to discuss many important local & state issues and also to meet a lot of nice people, including Gary and Rich.

We visited with Charlie Baker, candidate for Governor, twice this week. First in Osterville, then at a house party, where we discussed commonsense recovery strategies, wastewater issues, and community involvement with great people like Bob & Mary, Ted & Joan, Jerry & Jane, and many others.

Congratulations to my daughter, Abbie, who is doing an internship this summer with the Charlie Baker campaign! She was named “Volunteer of the Week”!

Abbie introduced her boyfriend, Dan, to Charlie when Dan was home on leave from Afghanistan. When I saw Charlie this week, he told me how impressed he was with Dan’s willingness to serve – to go back so calmly into harm’s way. We thank you Dan and all those who put themselves in harm’s way to protect us back home. We can’t wait to post a photo of a Vote Munafo bumper sticker on your Humvee!
